We are proud to have played a role in safeguarding the wealth of some families for generations. To every relationship we bring a deep experience of meeting the needs of families, as well as the resources of the Schroders Group.
Your family’s wealth may be the result of your own business’s success or you may be the steward of wealth inherited from earlier generations. In either case, the challenges you face will be similar to those seen by the other families we advise.
There may be continuing business interests to oversee, different family members’ needs to meet and differences of opinion between individuals to balance. More often than not, families will feel strongly about the charitable causes they want to support. And, increasingly, our family clients are expecting their investments to deliver positive social and environmental outcomes—in line with their values.
Schroders is a leading adviser to family clients at the very top end of the wealth range and to their family offices. In 2019 we reached an agreement to purchase Singapore based IAM ThirdRock, enhancing our ability to offer an exceptional service to multi-jurisdictional families and their advisers in Asia. This was complemented by the acquisition of Sandaire, a London based family office in 2020.
Schroders is still 48% owned by the family who founded it over 200 years ago. We have offices in Singapore and Hong Kong and Switzerland where we operate under the Schroders Wealth Management name. As well as London and the Channel Islands where you will know us as Cazenove Capital.
Your family is unique, as is mine, but the challenges we face and the choices we make have been navigated by other families before.
Complex requirements call for strong governance and expert, discreet and flexible services that can adapt to your family’s unique make-up. We understand the responsibility that comes with family wealth. We can help ensure your generation achieves its ambitions, and that the values you set will live on through future generations. To help, we have produced “Managing Family Wealth”, a document which reviews the various options open to families who are considering how best to manage and oversee their assets. If you would like to receive a copy, please contact a member of the team.
